The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/15) is expected to trade between 6,890ptโ7,000pt to hold ground and supported by bargain hunters.
Yesterday (2/14) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed lower by 157 points or 0.5% to 34,089pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 0.0% and higher by 0.6%, respectively. ย Theย US Januaryโs consumer price indexย increased by 0.5% for the month and 6.4% from the prior year, compared to estimates of 0.4% monthly and 6.2% annually, according to Dow Jonesโ survey of economists.
The 10-year United States Treasury yield yesterday rose by 4 basis points at 3.75%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury gained 8 basis points at ย 4.62%.
Yesterday, the price of WTI closed lower by 1.1% at USD79.3/ barrel, mainly on supply relief along with the news that more release is set to come from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The USDIDR closed atย IDR15,168 vs. IDR15,216 the previous one.
