The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/15) is expected to trade in the range of ย 7,130 – 7,310 points to attempt higher with the support of bargain hunters.

 

Meanwhile, yesterday ย (2/14) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 151 points or 0.40% to 38,424 points, a record close. The S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed lower by 0.96% and 1.3%, respectively.

The US consumer price index increased 0.3% in January, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. On a 12-month basis, that came out to 3.1%, down from 3.4% in December. Figures are higher than expectations of +0.2% month over month and 2.9% from a year earlier, according to economists polled by Dow Jones.

 

Yesterday on Wednesday, the yield of the 10-year ย US ย Treasury was last down by 5 basis points at ย 4.26%, while the yield on theย 2-year Treasury bond was lower by 8 basis point to 4.58% after rising as many as 19 basis points the previous day.

 

Yesterday, the WTI futures contract for March lost 1.58% to USD76.64/barrel, mainly on concern of the supply side following the latest surge of the US crude inventory level, by 12mn barrels last week. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,585 vs. IDR15,612 the previous one.
