The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/18) is expected to be in the range of 6,175pt โ 6,300pt to attemp higher being supported by bargain hunters.ย Foreign-outflows from Indonesia stock market is expected to occur on signs of improving economic recovery rates in major other countries such as in the United States (US), amid prolonged lowest interest rates climate.ย Today, stakeholders in the US ย is monitoring jobless claim data, ย widely-estimated at 773k cases, of a slight decrease estimation as compared to the previous one. ย At the other end, domestic investors is expected to monitor Indonesia central bank monthly meeting release today on the stance of monetary policy.
The DJIA closed higher by 90 points or by 0.3% to 31,613pt, while S&P 500, and the Nasdaq closed lower by 0.1% and 0.6%, respectively.
At the other end, yesterday ย the WTI price closed higher by 1.8% to USD61.1/barrel as compared ย to the previous close, mainly on historic cold weather in Texas, which supplies the bulk of the United States crude. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14,019 ย vs. IDR13,875 the previous one.
