The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (1/2) is expected to trade between 6,800ptโ€“ 6,930pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.

In 2022, factoring in uncertainties in the immediate and medium-term future, Indonesia has posted annual share price indexes gain of 4.09% (JCI), 0.7% (LQ45), 4.6% (JII), and 1.6% (JII70).

Also last year, Indonesiaโ€™s most inclusive stock prices index the JCI ranked 3rd after Singapore and India in terms of price gains in the Asian countries.

Friday last year (12/31), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by ย 74 points or 0.2% to 33,147pt (2022:-8.8% YoY), while the S&P500 fell lower by 0.3% to 3,840pt (2022: -19.4% YoY), and the Nasdaq by 0.1% at 10,467pt (2022: -33.1% YoY).

The 10-year US Treasury yield last week rose by 4 basis points at 3.88%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury was up by 6 basis points at 4.43%.

 

Yesterday, the price of ย WTI crude closed higher by 2.4% at USD80.3 a barrel (2022: +7% YoY, 2021: +55% YoY), mainly supported by supply fear that arose also to the uncertainty of how the Russia and Ukraine conflict would end. ย The USDIDR ย closed atย  IDR15,592 vs. IDR15,731 the previous one.
