The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (11/19) is expected to trade between 6,585pt – 6,700pt to ย attempt higher also on the back of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (11/18) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by 60pt ย or 0.2% to 35,871pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ย ย closed higher by 0.3% and by 0.5%, respectively. The US equity market yesterday was also supported by the countryโs job data of the latest weekly initial jobless claims (268k unites) that roughly matched the consensus estimates of 260k units.
The JCI today ย is expected to have technical rebound mainly supported by view of possible longer than expected dovish monetary policy both in Indonesia and other major Advanced Economies. Indonesia central bank Bank Indonesia(BI) during the media release yesterday after the complection of monthly Board-of-Governors meeting stated that accomodative policy measures are still maintained, mainly to boost growth. In addition , BI also stated than banks to further lower credit interest rates for other rates in the sector are trending more steeply than those of credits since BI keeps its reference rate at its all-time low of 3.5% of February thisย year.
At the other end, yesterday the WTI price ย closed higher by 0.83% ย to ย USD79.0/barrel , mainly on technical reverse following the previous drop on issues of more supplies from the release of Strategic National Reserves from major countries. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,231 vs. IDR14,259 the previous one.
