The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (10/15) is expected to trade between 6,585pt – 6,720pt to attempt for a year-high also by support of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday ย (10/14) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 535pt or 1.6% to 34,913pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ย closed higher by 1.7% and 1.7%, respectively. ย Latest data ย both on the US weekly jobless claims ( 293k units or the first time below 300k units during pandemic ) and September inflation rate, at 5.4% YoY, seemed accepted and prepared investors for the start of tightening this quarter.
The JCI ย today is expected to continue to be lively,also by support of the release of Indonesia Septemberโs trade data, scheduled at 11.00AM. The net surplus balance of September, widely-estimated at USD3.7bn-4.7bn, is expected to maintain the euphoria of annual higher commodity prices especially that of thermal coal. This should add to the sustainable improved profile of COVID-19 pandemic control in the Jakarta city and the country, we view.
At the other end, yesterday ย the WTI price ย closed higher by 0.8% to ย USD81.0/barrel, mainly on news that stated Saudi Arabia objected for the OPEC+ members to add production. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,155 vs. IDR14,217 the previous one.
