Morning,

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (9/30) is expected to trade between 6,125pt – 6,225pt to attempt higher also by support of  bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday  (9/29) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 91pt or 0.3% to 34,391pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both  closed higher  by 0.2% and lower  by 0.2%, respectively.

The JCI is expected to be mainly supported by the persistently within-record low level of COVID-19 new cases in the capital Jakarta city.  This should help boost confidence for investments and consumptions further, we reckon. The slightly higher confidence has also been  reflected in the August’s banks credit growth, as quoted from the media of 0.9% YoY,  an increase from June (+0.59% YoY), May (-1.3% YoY), and April (-2.3% YoY).

Yesterday, the WTI price  closed lower by 0.6% to  USD74.8/barrel, mostly as the sector recognized the recovery of the US production in the Gulf. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed  at IDR14,307  vs. IDR14,269 the previous one.
