The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (3/30) is expected to be in the range of 6,125pt โ 6,250pt, ย to fluctuate and be supported by bargain hunters. ย Meanwhile, yesterday (3/29), the DJIA closed higher by 99 points or 1.4% to 33,171pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ended lower by 0.1% and 0.6%, respectively.
The smooth vaccinations program ,as well as accomodative fiscal and monetary policy, is among the main ย factors for the DJIA to close at its record-high yesterday. ย By the latest (3/28) public data, the US has 15.7% ratio of total population that has been fully-vaccinated, while the United Kingdom rates at 5.3%, Japan of 0.03%, France of 3.9%, and Germany of 4.7%, among others. For Indonesia, the ย comparable ratio is 1.2% , and media has reported declining new cases and improving overal COVID-19 management, while stricter health measures are still compulsory. With still accomodative macro policies, both in Indonesia and other countries, the ratios may serve as a leading indicator for the stock index ย next week, we reckon.
At the other end, last week the WTI price ended higher ย by 1% to USD61.6/barrel as compared ย to the previous close, ย mainly on ย worries of supply disruption for weeks ahead. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14,434 vs. IDR14,446 the previous one.
