The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (9/24) is expected to trade between 6,100pt – 6,200pt likely to stick around also by support of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday ย (9/23) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 507pt or 1.5% to 34,765pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย closed higher by 1.2% and 1.0%, respectively.
The JCI is expected to stick around with the countryโs sustainably- improved profile of COVID-19 pandemic management ย ( the latest positivity rates of new cases in the capital city Jakarta at 0.9%, or within record-low of 0.7%), likely be the main sweetener as for now.ย At the other end, latest social and political domestic news have been discouraging, to cite several are, corruption allegations, non-disciplinary acts, the confuse of frequent change in the presidential aids, and the unnecessary disturbing-polemics on the main religion Islam. While these factors have been ย to a large extent common in the country, but unfortunately seemed to intensify most recently. Nevertheless, as in the interaction of demand and ย supply of goods, neutralization is soon to be realized, we reckon.
Yesterday ย the WTI price closed higher by 1.5% to ย USD73.3/barrel, mostly on demand prospect as also been reflected on the latest US refinery utilisation rates in the East Coast, of 93% or the highest since May 2019. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,256 vs. IDR14,249 the previous one.
