The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (5/30) is expected to trade between 6,940pt โ€“ 7,100ptย  to attempt higher also to join the regional positive sentiments.

 

The JCI Friday last weekย  closedย meaningfully higher to pass our resistance level estimate by some 40points while total trading value is moderate at IDR15.6tr (daily average of IDR15.8tr). The JCI move Friday was mainly driven by price increase of high market capitalization counters such as ย BBRI, GOTO, TLKM, BMRI, and BBCA. Consistently, the yield of the 10-year Indonesia government bond closed lower by 6bp to 7.141%.

 

Wall Street Friday last week (5/27), ended with the DJIA closed higher by 576pt or 1.8% to 33,213pt, meanwhile the S&P500 and Nasdaq closed higher by 2.5% and 3.3%, respectively. Meanwhile, the yield of the benchmark 10-year Treasury notes closed lower by less1bp to 2.74% Friday,or off its peak of over 3%. The US Aprilโ€™s PCE, at 4.9% YoY ย is ย in-line with estimates and lower as compared to the preceeding month of 5.2% YoYย  was said to help lifted ย sentiment in Wall Street.

 

Last week ย the WTIย  price closed higher by 0.9% to ย USD115.1/barrel, mainly on demand prospect also for ย annual stronger demand travel. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,578 ย vs. IDR14,645 the previous one.
