The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/27) is expected to trade between 6,780ptโ€“6,890pt to hold ground and be supported by bargain hunters.

 

Friday last week (2/24) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed lower by 337 points or 1.0% to 32,817pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 1.1% and 1.7%, respectively. ย The US personal consumption expenditures price index excluding food and energy increased by 0.6% for the month and was up 4.7% from a year ago.ย  Meanwhile, Wall Street had been expecting respective readings of 0.5% and 4.4%. The core PCE gains were 0.4% and 4.6% in December.

 

Last week, the 10-year United States Treasury yield rose by 7 basis points at 3.949%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury rose more than 10 basis points to 4.814%.

 

Last week, the price of WTI rose by 1.2% to USD76.3/ barrel, in thin trading while the upside was capped by the latest data on the US inventory level, at the highest since May 2021. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed atย  IDR15,216 vs. IDR15,179 the previous one.
