The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (7/7) is expected to trade between 6,690ptโ€“6,820pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters. The JCI is expected to generally be supported by stable and improving USDIDR.

 

Meanwhile, yesterday (7/5) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed lower by 366 points or 1.1% to 33,922pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed lower by 0.8%.ย A release from the payroll processing firm stated Private sector jobs surged by 497,000 in June, well ahead of the 267,000 gain in May and much better than the 220,000 estimate.

 

The 10-year US Treasury yield was higher by 9 basis points at 4.035%.ย  The yield on theย 2-year Treasuryย closed higher by 4 basis points at 4.987%.

 

 

Yesterday, the price of WTI ย closed higher by US1cent almost unchanged at USD71.8/ barrel, mainly on a net of lower-than-expected US weekly crude inventory and the increased chance of a higher policy rate this year. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,062 vs. IDR15,013 the previous one.
