The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (3/15) is expected to trade between 6,860pt โ 7,000ย to hold ground also by support of bargain hunters. The Jakarta financial market today is expected to be supported by the trending down of the positivity rate new cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta city, the first time of solid single-digit of 8% (latest data of 3/13) since 1/23 this year.
The JCI today is also to response on the countryโs international trade data for February, estimated at surplus at the range of ย USD1.4bn to USD3.1bn by several institutions (January: surplus of USD930mn).
Wall Street yesterday (3/14) ended with the DJIA closed higher by 1pt or 0.0% to 32,945pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Compositeย closed lower by 0.7% andย 2.0%, respectively. At the other end, the yield of the benchmark 10-year US Treasury note closedย higher by 12bp to 2.14%, as US investors is in cautious monitor for the US central bank decision during its March FOMC, scheduled to be announced tomorrow. Yields move inversely to prices and 1 basis point (bp) ย is equal to 0.01%.
Meanwhile, yesterday (3/14)ย ย the WTIย price closed lower by 5.8% against the previous close to USD103.0/barrel, mainly on the uncertainty on Russia and Ukraine crisis as well as news that China is again on COVID-19 lockdown.ย At the other end,ย the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,328 vs. IDR14,306 ย the previous one.
