ย The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (4/22) is expected to trade between 7,220pt โ€“ 7,330ptย  to consolidate and supported by bargain hunters.ย  The JCI today is expected to be supported also by COVID-19 new case positivity rate in the capital Jakarta city, ofย  2.0% by the latest record of 4/20, or the new low since the mid January this year.

 

Wall Street yesterday ย (4/21) ended with the DJIA closed lower by 368pt or 1.1% to 34,793pt, meanwhile the S&P500 and Nasdaq closed lower by 1.5% and 2.1%, respectively. At the other end, the yield of the benchmark 10-year Treasury notes reversed to rise by 9bp to close at 2.93%. The US central bank Chairman Jerome Powel indicated during a media invertview that a larger-than-usual rate hike (i.e.: 50bp vs. the usual 25bp for each hike) could be on the horizon for Mayโ€™s FOMC meeting.

 

Yesterday ย the WTIย  price closed rebounded by 1.6% to USD103.8/barrel against the previous close, mainly on demand worries from slowing global growth due to the Russia and Ukraine crisis.ย  Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,348ย  vs. IDR14,351 the previous one.
