Morning,

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (9/3) is expected to trade between 6,040pt – 6,150pt to attemp higher also by support of bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (9/2)  Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 131 points or 0.4% to 35,444pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed higher by 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively.

The JCI today is expected to be supported by the hike of USDIDR values most recently.  As quoted from the media, foreign portion of Indonesia sorvereign bonds ownership has gained by some IDR20tr (around 1% of the country’s total foreign reserves USD137.3bn) last month and partly led some increase to the USDIDR. At the other end, significant surge of COVID-19 in the  neighbour Malaysia is a threatening factor to shadow current Jakarta’s improved profile (latest positivity rates of 3.6% or around pandemic-low level).

At the other end, yesterday the WTI price closed higher by 2% to USD70.0/barrel , mainly on supply worries as oil inventory data was released lower than expected. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed  at IDR14,281 vs. IDR14,284 the previous one.

We advise the following recommendations, for both trading and longer-time investment purpose.
