The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (9/17) is expected to trade between 6,075pt – 6,200pt to ย ย gain edge by support of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday ย (9/16) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by 63pt or 0.2% to 34,751pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 0.2% and higher by 0.1%,respectively. The US retail sales data for the month of August, at+0.7%MoM (vs. estimate of -0.8%MoM) suggested a sustained pace recovery while the jobless claims for the week ended September 11 suggested otherwise. Market participants is in monitor for the US central bank this monthโs FOMC meeting on September 21.
The JCI ย today is expected to attempt higher as COVID-19 pandemic management profile in the capital city Jakarta is sustainably-improved, to have recorded new low of positivity rate of 1.1% onย September 15. This fact should add to the prospect of higher recovery rate for the country for the remaining 4Q21, we expect.
