The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/27) is expected to trade between 6,780ptโ€“ 6,900pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.

The news last week that the Indonesian government is about to officially end its four-tiered COVID-19 public activity restrictions (PPKM) is expected to lend support to the JCI today. ย Meanwhile, the latest (12/25) figure of the positivity rate of COVID-19 new cases in the capital city Jakarta stands at 5.4%, or the lowest since January 18.

This morningย  the Asian stock market traded higher, also as China officiallyย announcedย overnight it will end quarantine for inbound travelers on Jan. 8. The nation also downgraded Covid to a less strict Category B, from its current top-level Category A.

Yesterday (12/26), the price of ย WTI crude was trading higher at USD80.4/barrel or up 1.1% against the previous close. ย ย The USDIDR ย closed atย  IDR15,636 vs. IDR15,605 the previous one.
