The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (1/20) is expected to trade between 6,760ptโ€“ 6,890pt to hold ground supported by bargain hunters.

The JCI today is expected also to be supported by an air of confidence over the countryโ€™s latest economic condition. The composure may be captured from the media release of Januaryโ€™s Bank Indonesia board-of-governor policy meeting.

Yesterday (1/19) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed lower by 252 ย points or 0.8% to 33,045pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 0.8% and 1.0%, respectively.

The 10-year US Treasury yield yesterday was last higher by 2 basis points at 3.4%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury was trading higher by 4 basis points at 4.118%.

 

Yesterday, the price of WTI rose by 1.1% at USD80.3/ barrel, mainly on demand prospects along with the latest China oil demand data. Novemberโ€™s oil demand in China increased by 1mn BPD over the previous month to 15.41mn BPD. ย The USDIDR closed atย  IDR15,113 vs. IDR15,137 the previous one.
