The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (6/14) is expected to trade between 6,660ptโ6,810pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.
Meanwhile, yesterday (6/13) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 146 points or 0.4% to 34,212pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 0.7% and 0.8%, respectively.
Mayโs consumer price index in the US increased just 0.1% for the month and 4% from a year ago, the latter being the lowest level in about two years. All the numbers were in line with consensus estimates. Following the release, markets priced in a nearly 100% chance that the Federal Reserve will not raise interest rates this week.
The 10-year US Treasury yield added 7 basis points to 3.835%.ย The yield on theย 2-year Treasuryย was trading higher by 10 basis points lower at 4.698%.
Yesterday, the price of WTI closed higher by 3.1% to USD69.2/ barrel, mainly on demand prospects following the news that Chinaโs central bank lowered a short-term lending rate for the first time in 10 months. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR14,868 vs. IDR14,874 the previous one.
