The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (4/27) is expected to be in the range of 5,925pt โ 6,050pt, ย to fluctuate and also be supported by stable USDIDR and oil close. ย Meanwhile, yesterday (4/26), the DJIA closed lower by ย 62 points or 0.2% to 33,982pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended higher by 0.2% and 0.9% respectively.
The JCI was trading generally below consensusโ expectation yesterday, with foreign funds recorded a net sell of IDR227bn. ย Domestic equity market, for a short while, is expected to be under pressure again, we note. The outflow force is especially higher as stakeholders now are in monitor of the Aprilโs FOMC meeting of the Federal Reserve to start today.ย Many believe, the United States (US) central bank would somehow reverse current easy monetary policy,ย despite repeated re-affirmation recently ย by its chairman Jerome Powell, given the improving COVID-19 vaccination program as well as the US economic data.
At the other end, yesterday the WTI price ended higher by ย 0.4% to USD61.2/barrel , mainly on demand worries as COVID-19 virus spread is surging in India, the worldโs third biggest oil importer country. Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14,489 vs. IDR14,548 the previous one.
