The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (1/5) is expected to trade between 6,650pt – 6,760pt and to attempt higher also on the back of ย bargain hunters.The yield of the 10-year Indonesia government bonds closed higher by 4bp yesterday at 6.402%, in-line with the US Treasury note of the same tenor, rose byย ย 2bp ย to 1.647%.
At the other end, the DJIA closed higher by 215pt or 0.6% to 36,800 pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite ย ย both closed lower by 0.06% and 1.3%, respectively.ย The DJIA response well mostly on the US job openings of the JOLT report for November last year which is recorded at 6.6% YoY (October: 7% YoY, ย November 2020: 4.5% YoY).
The JCI today is expected to be impacted by the news streams concerning the development of COVID-19 spread in the country which is increasing in the last 7 (seven) days.ย In the capital Jakarta city, the latest daily positivity rates stood at 1.0% (previous day of 1.8%), meaningfully ย higher as compared to record low of 0.2%-0.4% in the month.
At the other end, yesterday ย ย the WTI price closed lower by 1% to USD76.7/barrel, ย mainly on the decision of OPEC+ member to keep its ย production addition policy of 400k barrels/day which is decided during the meeting yesterday. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,310 vs. IDR14,270the previous one.
