The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (10/14) is expected to trade between 6,500pt – 6,600pt to try to stick around also by support of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday ย (10/13) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by 0.5pt or 0.0% to 34,378pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ย closed higher by 0.3% and 0.7%, respectively. ย The US core Consumer Price Index for the month of September rose by 0.2% MoM and 4% YoY, as expected. In addition, the US Septemberโs FOMC minutes-of-meeting showed, as quoted from the media, that tapering process can begin either in mid-November or December.
The JCI today maybe slightly impacted by the ย move of tightening by neighbour country Singaporeโs central bank, which raised slightly higher the upper band of the trading range of the countryโs currency against basket for other currencies. The move is unexpected, while 3Q21 GDP growth is at 6.5% YoY vs. the widely-estimated 6.6% YoY.
At the other end, yesterday ย the WTI price ย closed lower by 0.3% to ย USD80.4/barrel, mainly on a technical retreat following the most recent demand-based price surges. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,217 ย vs. IDR14,221 the previous one.
