January Job Gain was Higher than Expected

The United States of America (US) economy added 353,000 jobs in January this year to 157.7mn jobs (in Chart 1), based on the data released by the country’s  Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).  The figure was higher than the widely estimated 185k jobs.
