The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (8/25) is expected to trade between 6,050pt – 6,200pt likely to strenghten while being supported by bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (8/24) ย Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 31 points or 0.1% to 35,366pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed higher by 0.2% and 0.5%, respectively.
As was yesterday, today the JCI is expected to be supported by declining spread ย COVID-19 new cases, especially in the Jakarta city that last record of Positivity Rate stands at 5.3% ย ( Monday: 5.8%, Sunday: 6.1%), or within ย record-lowest range of 3%-6% since March last year. Reversing-up commodities price such as oil and oil is also expected to lend support.
At the other end, yesterday the WTI price closed higher by 2.9% to USD67.5/barrel , also on the news that ย Mexico suffered a large production outage due to a fire on an oil platform.ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed ย at IDR14,391 ย vs. IDR14,415 the previous one.
