The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/1) is expected to trade between 6,790ptโ€“ 6,920pt to attempt higher supported by bargain hunters.

The JCI today is expected to respond to the release of ย Indonesiaโ€™s January inflation data. The countryโ€™s inflation rate is widely expected to continue to soften in January, widely estimated at 0.4% MoM (December: 0.66% ), and 5.4% YoY (December: 5.51%).

Yesterday (1/31) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 261 points or 0.8% to 34,086pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 1.5% and 1.7%, respectively.

The 10-year US Treasury yield yesterday fell by 5 basis points at 3.503%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury was trading lower by more than 5 ย basis points at 4.203%.

 

Yesterday, the price of WTI closed higher by 1.3% at USD78.9/ barrel, mainly on demand prospects along with the latest demand of US crude and petroleum products for November, the highest since August. ย The USDIDR closed atย  IDR14,992 vs. IDR14,979 the previous one.
